April 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM – Writers Discuss Writing

Please join us to share your accomplishments, questions, anecdotes, and comments as we discuss the craft of writing.

May – Reading for Writers Event

Reading is essential to the craft of writing. As Stephen King says, “If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write.”

Our selection is When the Jessamine Grows by NCWN member Donna Everhart, who has graciously agreed to join us for a discussion and Q&A. We’ll also talk about the importance of literary citizenship—supporting the literary community through reading, writing, and networking—which is at the heart of the Network and Writers’ Morning Out.

The book is available online and at several local libraries. We encourage you to read as much as possible before the event. While all are welcome, reading at least a portion of the book beforehand will make the discussion more rewarding for everyone.

June – Query Letters and Book Proposals

So, what do you really want, dear agent?

Carol Phillips will talk about queries and book proposals: what needs to be included in each and what agents and editors said about them at the NCWN Spring Conference.

All WMO events are on Zoom.
