Writers’ Morning Out will begin accepting submissions for the twelfth annual Ultra-Flash Fiction contest on August 1. The contest will have two divisions: one-syllable and multi-syllable.

Al Manning, the founder of WMO, conceived the one-syllable UFF Contest to encourage writers to proofread. The contest rules also encourage writers to read and follow guidelines when submitting. Publishers and agents assume writers who cannot follow guidelines, can’t follow instructions and thus will be hard to work with. Who wants to work with someone difficult?

Follow the guidelines! Use guidelines as a checklist before clicking the submit button. Submissions to the UUF contests that do not follow the guidelines below will be rejected.
